Not Your Moms Pea Soup

I like to make Pea Soup after we have a baked ham dinner. My family loves it.It never comes out exactly the same but it also never comes out like the green pasty pea soup my mom always use to make.
I hate to through anything away and I am a believer in the flavor is in the bones.
I boil my chicken bones and leftover meat for chicken stew and also my ham bones for pea soup. I boil my bones drain and save the broth. Cook my peas for an hour adding liquid as desired. pick my bones and ad the meat. (Bones go to Brute when cool enough)
chop up my leftover veggies from the baked ham dinner an simmer. DONe!
Best pea Soup ever!
I am a work at home mom. I have a wonderful family with my youngest being 3 years old and her best friend My 1 year old Brute (a naughty little westhiemer terrier) I am 43 and loving life. I am so happy I am able to be home with my last little gift to watch her grow (way to fast) Jasmine.

Pea soup is one of the most forgiving dishes you can cook. One of the odd things about pea soup is that no matter what you do it, it always comes out tasting really good.
So how long have you known my mother?
My mom used to cook "by feel". It would drive me crazy whenever I asked her how she made something.
